When a search engine finds identical content on several different sites, it represents no added value to the search engines and those sites can be penalized and conversely, when the search engines find original content the site is rewarded with improved search engine rank.

Original content will earn you high marks with the search engines, by adding quality content pages to your site you will attract more visitors as well. This is why it is important to add new content often.

When you are interested in achieving a high ranking on the search engine listings when your keyword is searched, quality content is key. In this case quality content is defined "valuable information for your visitors".

The higher the quality of the information, the more attention it will receive from the search engines and human visitors alike. Your content can be related to your product or service in a variety of ways; the benefits it provides, comparisons to other products or information related to the problem that makes your product necessary.

Your inbound links play a large role in how Google determines PageRank. The more sites within your category that link to you, the higher your page rank can be.
You can encourage related sites to link to you by providing text links and tiny graphic buttons with your link initiation.

Another method of spreading the word about your site and increasing your inbound links is to use a "referral system" that will include a "tell a friend" or "email this page" feature on your web pages.
